The Vlicha Beach is the closest beach to Lindos and is one of the furthest beaches from the main city of Rhodes. The Vlicha beach is situated some 47 odd kms away from the city of Rhodes towards the south of the main city area. This beach is geographically the most distant beach from the main city area and therefore does not share the buzz of tourists with other beaches on the island. This beach is big enough to handle, however, the locals from the Lindos area are all on the lookout for an escape from all the flocking tourists. However, since the beach is very close to Lindos, there is plenty of access to all settlement facilities like market, some shopping, restaurants, hotels, etc.
The sea is very calm and has a smooth & gradual increase in depth, this is an ideal setting for the swim lovers and is also good for certain beach sports like surfing. Then there is plenty of provisions for swimming, sun bathing which includes Umbrellas & Sun beds, also some rental basis provision for water sports. There are 2 very famous cantinas on the beach that provide good refreshments, light afternoon meals and pay phones.
The Vlicha beach situated away from the city has a perfect setting for a getaway from the tourist buzz in the main city. It is an ideal location to spend a day or two from the vacation in complete calm and quiet. This is also great for families with small children or elderly in the group, the atmosphere provides good relaxation to everyone visiting this place. Since this beach is big enough and less crowded, this is an ideal location for larger groups of friends or families that prefer a lot of space. At the same time, if there is a need for a little privacy, the right hand end of the beach is much better since it is more isolated as compared to the other part of the beach.
The Vlicha beach, although located away from the city, has provision for health services since Lindos is very close by. Access to Lindos is very easy since it is a drive of less than 10-15 minutes. Private car rentals, taxis and even rented motorbikes are all means of travelling to & from Lindos.
