The Tsampika beach is located on the east coast of the Island of Rhodes, this beach is also very close to the most famous Monastery of Panaghia Tsambika, from whom the beach was known to be named. The main cisty of Rhodes is allocated about 26 kms away from this beach which is more of a disadvantage since it is quite away from the city that hosts the tourists during the busy season. In spite of the location, the Tsampika beach provides its own share of reasons for a visit that is a must by most tourists. The Tsambika beach, has a long sandy beach with golden sand and has a beautiful stretch of crystal blue waters. The beach is fairly well organized and has a good arrangement for sun beds and umbrellas that provide ample space for relaxation.
Since this beach is quite big, has a good area covered in sand there is lots of space for all kinds of tourists. There can be families, children and even young groups that can visit the beach since there is enough space for beach activities. The beach also offers a lot of variety on water sports and those who look for the thrill on waters can definitely have a go at good equipment that is available on hire basis. The beach has lots of restaurants that provide a lot of eating options and quite a few bars for those who like a drink by the beach. Besides these, there are smaller cantinas by the beach, which is an ideal place for a small snack by the beach side.
Health services & a police station is not very far away from the beach. These are both available in the village of Archangelos which is situated about 3 kms towards the southern side of the beach. The Monastery of Panaghia Tsambika, is found a little away from the beach and is a short climb of a few rocks. This monastery gives the name to the beach and legend has it that the Virgin Mary helps to protect the childless women and also blesses them with the gift of a child.
The access to Tsambika beach is not very difficult in spite of the distance from the Rhodes city. Taxi services are easily available which can ferry passengers right upto the beach, there is an alternative of renting a private car or even motorbikes which can be used to enjoy the ride to the beach from the main city area.
